The iris is the contractile membrane of the pupil and its random patterns are unique to each individual. Iris recognition technology identifies people by their unique iris patterns. This is what makes iris recognition the most accurate form of biometric measurement.

The OKI® IRISPASS® provides the highest levels of protection by controlling access to high-security areas via the most precise iris recognition technology available. OKI technology is easy-to-use, fast and accurate, precisely verifying individuals.

Feature

1. Intuitive user interface
As simple as having your snapshot taken; no camera adjustments by manual.
100% non-touch operation.
2. Rapid throughput
Image acquisition starts when the blue light flashes.
Identification is complete in less than 1 second after image acquisition.
Throughput rates of over 10 persons per minute can be supported.
3. Voice guidance
Pre-recorded messages guide users into proper position in conjunction with visual indicators.
Messages can be customized in any language for international use.
4. Compliance with international standards
The application interface complies with ANSI INCITS 358-2002 (known as BioAPITM v1.1) and iris image complies with ISO/IEC 19794-6.

Spesification

Image Capture Speed : 1 second or less
(Image capture speed may very depending on conditions.)

Iris Identification Speed : 1 second or less
(At proper PC configuration and depending on database size.)

FAR
(False Acceptance Rate) : 1 in 1.2 million

Operational Range : Distance: 30-60cm (1-2 feet)
User's height: 145-200cm (57-78 inch)

Size (mm) : 328 W x 197 H x 84 D
(12.92 W x 7.76 H x 3.31 D inch)

Weight : 5kg (11 lbs.)

Power Supply : AC100-240V, 50/60Hz (AC adaptor)

Operating Environment : Temperature: 0-40ºC
Humidity: 30-80% (@30ºC)
Indoor

Networking : LAN Connectivity: 100BASE-T Ethernet

Software : BioAPITM v1.1
PrivateID® v2.3

Controller PC
Requirements CPU: Celeron® 2GHz,or faster
RAM: 512MB minimum
OS: Windows® XP,Windows® 2000

Networking LAN Connectivity: 100BASE-T Ethernet

Software BioAPITM v1.1
PrivateID® v2.3

Controller PC
Requirements CPU: Celeron® 2GHz,or faster
RAM: 512MB minimum
OS: Windows® XP,Windows® 2000

IRIS SCANNER

Introduction
The Iris recognition is based on visible (via regular and/or infrared light) qualities of the iris. A primary visible characteristic is the trabecular meshwork (permanently formed by the 8th month of gestation), a tissue which gives the appearance of dividing the iris in a radial fashion. Other visible characteristics include rings, furrows, freckles, and the corona, to cite only the more familiar.

Iris-Scan Applications
Iris-scan technology has traditionally been deployed in high-security employee-facing physical access implementations, although 2002 saw a number of novel, high-profile iris-scan deployments in new applications. Iridian - the technology's primary developer - is dedicated to moving the technology to the desktop, and has had some success in small-scale logical access deployments. The most prominent recent deployments of iris-scan technology have been passenger authentication programs at airports in the U.S., U.K., Amsterdam, and Iceland; the technology is also used in corrections applications in the U.S. to identify inmates. A number of developing countries are considering iris-scan technology for national ID and other large-scale 1:N applications, although to date it is still believed that the largest deployed Iridian database spans under 100,000 enrollees. Notable iris-scan applications include the following.
Project Description Location Vertical Sector Horizontal Application Application Description Additional Description
Iris in Pakistan Pakistan Government Civil ID Tracking Afghan refugees receive assistance package on first enrollment through UNHCR
Iris Pilot - Logan US-MA Travel and Transportation Phys Acc/T&A Physical Access Iris piloted for employee access to security office (LG3000)
JFK Iris Pilot US-NY Travel and Transportation Phys Acc/T&A Physical Access 1 door to tarmac protected
City Hospital of Bad Reichenhall in Bavaria Germany Health care Phys Acc/T&A Physical Access Access control to infant center to prevent kidnappings
Singapore Border Crossing Singapore Government Travel and Transportation Physical Access 50k day workers enter Singapore from Malaysia daily by motorcycle. Unlike many other biometric devices including some other iris recognition cameras, no biometric templates are stored on the optical unit. Iris images input via the ROU3000 reach the securely located ICU3000 which creates 512-byte templates from ROU input to compare these with stored values. If a match is found, the unit generates a signal to directly open a door, or provides Weigand output to signal a panel that then controls access. An ICU 3000 with one Frame Grabber Board (FGB) and one Door Interface Board (DIB) controls two doors. The Panasonic Authenticam addresses the core issues of helping an organization diminish or eliminate the costs of password management, reduce the risks of privilege and policy management and increase the security of a private key. In addition to providing security for information access applications, the iris recognition system camera can be used for video conferencing and online collaboration.

Private ID Software

Private ID software allows an iris recognition system camera to capture, select, and secure iris images. These images can then be processed by the KnoWho Authentication Server. The server will check that the images are secure before doing biometric operations, such as enrollment or recognition.

Iris Recognition System Features

The Panasonic Authenticam™ camera protects information through the most accurate and easy-to-use authentication technology — iris recognition. The camera offers off-the-shelf videoconferencing and user security for multiple users of PCs, files, folders, applications and password banks.

The Iris recognition system addresses the core issues of helping an organization diminish or eliminate the costs of password management, reduce the risks of privilege and policy management and protect the private key. Iridian's KnoWho™ Authentication Server software and Software Developer Kit (SDK) allows custom integration of the Panasonic Authenticam with enterprise-wide solutions for back office, legacy and web applications.

Highlights
The Panasonic Authenticam sets new information security standards for local and network PCs as well as enterprise business applications through a core set of benefits:

* Most accurate authentication
* Easy to use
* Password elimination
* Positive identification
* Non-invasive
* Fully scalable
* Videoconferencing
* Cost effective

Features
Most accurate authentication.
The iris recognition system is based on the most mathematically unique biometric — the iris of the eye. The human iris is absolutely unique, even between twins or an individual's right and left eyes.

A number of objective tests and evaluations over the last eight years have identified iris recognition technology as the most accurate biometric. The most recent of these evaluations was reported by the National Physical Laboratory on behalf of the Communications Electronics Security Group in April 2001.

Easy to use.
The camera's visual user interface supports a fast learning curve with enrolment in less than two minutes. Once enrolled, users can logon to their computer or the enterprise with just a glance, and each logon or entry takes less than three seconds to be authenticated.

Eliminate password management.
SecureSuite™ software is included with the Panasonic Authenticam to enhance the security of a standalone personal computer with a set of iris recognition-enabled applications:

* SecureLogon™ for local PC logon, supporting up to six users
* SecureSession™ for a password bank of personal internet accounts
* SecureFolder™ for folder and file level security
* SecureApp™ for secure application launching

The administrative burden of password management, which requires issuing complex alphanumeric combinations and providing multiple passwords per person, can be virtually eliminated through the use of the Panasonic Authenticam. Iridian's KnoWho Authentication Server can be used with the Software Developer Kit for customized integration of the iris recognition system with enterprise applications. Additionally, Iridian's many solution provider partners offer seamless integration to a broad selection of operating systems, applications and databases.

Positive identification.
The Panasonic Authenticam with KnoWho Authentication Server software delivers one-to-many identification capability instead of one-to-one verification provided by most other security solutions. With true identification, users are not required to present additional verification such as a PIN, token or card.

The combination of the Authenticam's one-to-many positive identification feature coupled with the iris recognition system's ability to perform an exhaustive search of virtually any size database at unequalled speed and with unparalleled accuracy represents enormous potential for eBusiness, enterprise, healthcare, government, and financial service initiatives.

Non-invasive.
The Panasonic Authenticam takes a video-based image from a comfortable 19-21 inches away, and requires no contact, only cooperation, from users. The Authenticam does not use any lasers or bright lights, which are often used in retinal "scans", nor does it require physical touching like most fingerprint-based solutions.

Videoconferencing.
The Panasonic Authenticam is a multi-function camera that can record video email messages and can be used to participate in network and Internet-based video conferences. It is compatible with standard video conferencing applications, including Microsoft® NetMeeting™.

Scale to the enterprise with KnoWho™.
The Panasonic Authenticam combined with Iridian's KnoWho™ Authentication Server software provides for high performance integration with back office, legacy and web applications.

The KnoWho™ Authentication Server software offers secure, robust encoding, record matching and database storage management of IrisCode® templates.
